Compassionate psychotherapy for adults suffering from the effects of trauma, including intergenerational trauma, PTSD, cPTSD, chronic pain and illness, self-harming, suicidal thoughts, dissociative disorders, depression and anxiety, toxic relationships, addictions, isolation.

I'm trained and experienced in Art Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Internal Family Systems, body and breath work, polyvagal theory, positive psychology, shamanism and nature therapy.

My basic approach is strength-based, holistic, and firmly grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and be well.


Counselling

Specializing in counselling adults with complex grief and loss issues, like the death of a loved one, the loss of homeland or culture, or any significant alteration in life circumstances. We tap into your deeply held beliefs and core strengths so you can meet your new reality with resilience and self-acceptance.


Supervision

I offer individual supervision to Psychotherapists and Art Therapists who are either already registered with CRPO or CATA, or are counting hours towards registration. I offer individual supervision to Psychotherapists and Art Therapists who are either already registered with CRPO or CATA, or are counting hours towards registration. I support therapists working with varied populations in a wide range of settings, specializing in supporting trauma work, grief and loss counselling, Indigenous clients, new Canadians, chronic pain and illness. We can set up regularly-scheduled supervision, occasional sessions, or a one-off session about a specific issue.

Virginia (Ginny) trained at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in Nelson, BC. Her education background also includes Philosophy, Biology and Music. A specialist in trauma, complex grief and loss, and chronic pain issues, Ginny is passionate about guiding people on their healing journey towards realizing wholeness, self-worth and life purpose. She practices art psychotherapy as well as traditional talk therapy, with training in mindfulness and meditation, polyvagal theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), among other approaches. She enjoys nature study, playing piano, painting, yoga and t’ai chi. Ginny uses her broad life experience to bring authenticity and insight to her work with her clients.
